Eleven Polaris-backed Businesses Make Inc. Magazine 500|5000 List

When Inc. Magazine published its 2011 list of the top 5,000 fastest growing companies in the United States, we noted that eleven Polaris Venture Partners-backed companies had been recognized. To put this list in some perspective, Inc. Magazine estimates that there are over 7 million privately held companies in the U.S.

The list acknowledges U.S. companies that experienced significant growth over the past three years. This consistent growth signals the market demand for the innovative
products and services that these companies provide, as well as their strength
of position in each sector.

The PVP companies include:

Company          Rank       Sector                         Rev. Growth

DigiCert              639          Security                        503%

Ember                 697         Computer Hardware     454%

e-Rewards          1134        Advertising/Marketing  262%

CodeRyte           1800        Health                           148%

NEA                    1971        Software                       129%

Best Doctors       2149        Health                           116%

Impinj                  2393        Computer Hardware     100%

HealthCentral      2785        Health                             79%

Focus Financial   2801        Financial Services          78%

MedVantx            2941        Health                             71%

PartsSource         3149        Health                             63%

In these difficult economic times, Inc. Magazine reporter Darren Dahl writes in an associated article why the list provides “a few thousand reasons to be optimistic.”

We want to recognize and to congratulate these companies and their employees.  We also want to recognize the growth of other Polaris-backed companies, and the similar hard work performed by their employees. We believe that many of these companies would also rank well on the list if they participated in the application process.
